Managing notifications

Notifications allow you to keep your customers informed about the status of their loyalty points. Notifications are available only for profile-based loyalty programs and are sent as webhooks.

Notification types

For any given profile-based loyalty program, you can create and manage notifications of the following types:

Expiring points

Notify your customers of expiring loyalty points. For each notification you create, add up to 3 triggers, each at a different alert time before the points' expiration date.

To do this, when you create a notification, in the Schedule section, specify the:

  • Amount: The number of days or weeks.
  • Period: Days before expiration date or Weeks before expiration date.

  • You can add up to 3 triggers for each notification of this type.
  • To add a trigger, click Add Trigger. To delete one, click the trash bin icon on the right.

Creating notifications

You can create notifications for each of your profile-based loyalty programs. To view your loyalty programs, on the left-most menu, click Loyalty. Click the name of a loyalty program to open it.

To create a notification:

  1. On the left-side menu of the loyalty program where you want to create a notification, click Notifications.

  2. If there are no notifications yet, click Set Up Notifications.

    If there are one or more notifications in the selected loyalty program, from the top-right corner, click Create Notification to create a notification.

  3. In the Create Notification drawer, select the type of notification to create.

  4. In Notification name, type a name for the notification.

  5. (For expiring points only) In the Schedule section, specify how long before the points' expiration date you want to trigger alerts.

  6. In the Request section, specify the details of the webhook request:

    • Verb indicates the HTTP request method: POST.
    • In URL, type the URL where you want to receive notifications.
    • In Header, type a custom header that describes the request.
      • (Optional) Click Add header for each additional header value required by the receiving party, and enter the corresponding headers.
  7. In the Payload preview section, review the request payload.

  8. Click Create Notification.

Editing notifications

You can edit the name, schedule, and request of a notification at any time.

  1. On the left-side menu of the loyalty program where you want to edit a notification, click Notifications.
  2. Click the edit symbol to the right of the required notification.
  3. Edit the required details.
  4. Click Save.

Deleting notifications

You can delete a notification to stop your customers from receiving notifications about changes to their loyalty points.

  1. On the left-side menu of the loyalty program where you want to delete a notification, click Notifications.
  2. Click the trash bin icon to the right of the required notification.
  3. In the pop-up that appears, click Delete Notification.
