Managing templates

You can manage your templates directly from your campaigns.

Listing templates

To list the available templates, on the leftmost menu, click Templates.

This page displays the available templates. It contains the following information:

Template states

A template can exist in one of the following states:

StateDescription
TotalBy default, templates in all available states are displayed.
DraftA template whose rules or values for mandatory attributes are not yet defined.
EnabledIt can be used to create campaigns.
DisabledIt cannot be used to create campaigns. Campaigns already created from the template are unaffected.

Template details

ColumnDescription
Template

Name of the template.

It indicates the template state through a color code indicated at the top of the page. The template state can be:

  • Draft: The template is not complete and cannot be used yet.
  • Enabled: The template is available to create new campaigns.
  • Disabled: The template is not available to create new campaigns.
ID

Unique number identifying the template. It can be used for integration purposes. 

CreatedDate when the template was created.
Created byUser who created the template.
PlaceholdersNumber of placeholders defined in the template.
BudgetsNumber of budgets set in the template.
AttributesNumber of mandatory attributes included in the template.
CampaignsNumber of campaigns created from the template. 

Disabling a template

The campaign templates are automatically enabled when you create them. You can disable an active template for it not to appear as an option when creating new campaigns. This does not affect those campaigns that you created from this template.

  1. On the leftmost menu, click Templates.
  2. Click the name of the template you want to disable.
  3. Click Disable template.
  4. Click Disable: template name in the pop-up that appears.

Enabling a template

Enable a disabled template in order to be able to use it for creating new campaigns.

  1. On the leftmost menu, click Templates.
  2. Click the name of the template you want to enable.
  3. Click Activate template.

Searching for templates

You can find templates by their names or tags.

  1. On the leftmost menu, click Templates.

  2. Type the required name or tag in the search bar at the top of the page. The search is not case-sensitive.

You see the templates matching the words you have typed.

Filtering templates

You can filter your templates by:

  • State: To filter by state, from the top of the Templates page, select a state.
  • Creation date: To define a time period, to the right of the search bar on the Templates page, click Filter.

To view all the templates again, to the right of the search bar, click Clear Filters.

Editing a template

To edit a template:

  1. On the leftmost menu, click Templates.
  2. Click the name of the template you want to edit.
  3. In the top-right corner of the page, click Edit template.

You can modify some characteristics of a template after it has been created:

  • In Basic info, you can edit the template's name, description, tags, usage guide, connected Applications, and campaign access group.
  • In Template Placeholders, you can add, edit and delete placeholders. You can only edit placeholders if they are not used in rules.
  • In Budgets and Attributes, you can edit, create and delete budgets, and define new values for mandatory attributes.
  • In Coupon Codes, you can define new characteristics for the coupon codes automatically generated by any Create coupon code effect in rules.

After editing all the required details, click Save and close.

  • To keep a draft template in the draft state, click Save as draft.

  • To activate it instead, click Activate template.

    The template automatically appears as enabled on the Templates page.

Deleting a template

You can delete templates that you do not need anymore.

  1. On the leftmost menu, click Templates.
  2. Click the name of the template you want to delete.
  3. In the top-right corner of the page, click Delete template.
  4. Click Delete: template name in the pop-up that appears.
