Managing referrals

Redeeming a referral code

To reward your customers for redeeming a valid referral code, you can create a rule with a Referral code is valid condition and any desired effects, such as a direct discount.

Learn more about it in our Developer Docs.

  1. Click Create Rule in the Rule Builder section of your campaign.
  2. In Conditions, click Add Conditions.
  3. In Referral, click Referral code is valid.
  4. Click the check mark to the right of the condition.

The condition is saved. You can then add an effect.

note

You can create a condition for a rule to be triggered if the referral code is valid without the code having to be redeemed. This is useful if, for example, you want your customers to know that the code is valid but can only be redeemed if they meet other conditions, such as a given minimum session total.

Filtering referral codes

You can filter your codes in different ways so that you find those that match certain characteristics, such as the creation date or current redemption status.

  1. Click Referrals on the left-side menu of your campaign.

  2. Click Filter at the top of the page to display the filtering options:

    • Use Creation date to select dates and find codes created within a certain time range.
    • Use Advocate's Integration ID to find the codes created for a given customer. It must match, and the filter is case-sensitive.
    • Use Validity to find codes that are valid either now or in the future, or that have already expired.
    • Use Redemption to find codes that have already been redeemed or those that are still usable.
    note

You can use more than one filter at the same time. The filters used appear at the top of the page, and you can edit them by clicking on the box with their name. You can also remove them individually by clicking the X to the right of their name.

You see the referrals that match the filters you have set.
