Creating campaigns

Create a brand new campaign to manage all aspects of it.

Creating a campaign from scratch

  1. Select the Application where you want to create your campaign.

  2. From the left-side menu, click Create Campaign.

  3. Click From Scratch, and select the type of campaign you want to create.

  4. In Name, type a name for the campaign.

  5. (Optional) In Features, select which features you want to enable:

    • Coupons
    • Referrals
    • Loyalty
    • Giveaways
    note

    You can enable or disable these features after creating your campaign. The Giveaways feature is not available in item campaigns.

  6. (Optional) From the Campaign access group dropdown, select a campaign access group to add your campaign to.

    note

    This option appears only if there are one or more campaign access groups connected to the Application.

  7. From the Campaign evaluation group dropdown, select a campaign evaluation group to add your campaign to.

    • Unless you select another group, the campaign is added to the default campaign evaluation group. You can change this at any time in the Campaign Evaluation section of your Application.
    • You cannot add your campaign to a locked group.
  8. In Store-based campaign evaluation, select the type of stores-based evaluation you want for your campaign.

    • All stores: Your campaign is evaluated for all the stores that are present in the Application.
    • Specific stores: Your campaign is evaluated only for selected stores. Each store is linked to the campaign. You can choose stores by their Store name.

    This option appears only if there are stores in your Application. To create stores in your Application, use the Create stores endpoint.

  9. Click Create Campaign.

The Dashboard of the campaign appears. In the State section, the campaign state is automatically set as draft, which means it is not active.

tip

Create at least one rule and activate your campaign to test it. On the left-side menu, click Rule Builder to create your first rule for the campaign.

Creating a campaign from a template

Before you start, ensure that the template you want to use is enabled and available in the Application where you want to create the campaign.

Then, you can create the campaign:

  1. Select the Application where you want to create your campaign.

  2. From the left-side menu, click Create Campaign.

  3. Click From a template.

  4. Select the template you want to use and click Create Campaign.

  5. In Basic info, enter the basic information for the campaign:

    • In Name, type a name for the campaign.
    • In Description, enter a description to help you identify the campaign.
    • From the Campaign evaluation group dropdown, select a campaign evaluation group to add your campaign to.

    • Unless you select another group, the campaign is added to the default campaign evaluation group. You can change this at any time in the Campaign Evaluation section of your Application.
    • You cannot add your campaign to a locked group.
  6. Click Next.

  7. In Step 1: Properties, enter or select values for the placeholders defined when creating the template.

  8. In Step 2: Budgets, you can edit the budgets of the campaign.

  9. (Optional) In Step 3: Schedule, set start and expiration dates for your campaign and click Save Schedule.

  10. In Step 4: Store-based campaign evaluation, select the type of stores-based evaluation you want for your campaign.

    • All stores: Your campaign is evaluated for all the stores that are present in the Application.
    • Specific stores: Your campaign is evaluated only for selected stores. Each store is linked to the campaign. You can choose stores by their Store name.

    This option appears only if there are stores in your Application. To create stores in your Application, use the Create stores endpoint.

  11. Click Activate Campaign.

The created campaign is available in your Application. The campaign state is automatically set as disabled.

tip

The Rule Engine does not validate the rules of your campaign when its state is disabled. To test the campaign, activate it first.
