Managing Application cart item filters
Application cart item filters allow you to filter items by the value of a certain attribute, such as SKU or product category. They can be used in more than one campaign of your Application.
Create an Application cart item filter, for example, for a collection of items you want to exclude from all your promotional campaigns in a given Application. You can then select this filter as your first filter when you create a cart item filter in your campaign.
- Location and time attributes are not supported in Application cart item filters. To use them, consider creating a cart item filter in your campaign instead. This allows you to create more complex and flexible filters for your cart items. See Cart item filters.
- You cannot reference Application cart item filters in strikethrough rules.
- You cannot delete Application cart item filters.
Listing Application cart item filters
To list the available Application cart item filters:
- Open an Application.
- On the left-side menu of your Application, click Cart Item Filters.
The filters you create are listed on the page in the most recent order. The default filter is marked .
Creating an Application cart item filter
To create an Application cart item filter:

On the left-side menu of your Application, click Cart Item Filters.

Click Create Cart Item Filter.
tipIf a filter exists, in the top-right corner of the page, click Create Filter.

In the Filter attributes section, define the attribute values by which you can filter items in your campaign rules.
- To add a filter attribute, click Add Filter Attribute. Add as many as you need in the order you want to apply them.

In Filter name, type a name for your filter.
note- This filter name is displayed in the Rules section of the Rule Builder.
- You cannot rename the filter after it is created.

(Optional) In Description, describe your filter.

To set the filter as the default selection in campaigns that use cart item filters, select Default filter.

Click Create Cart Item Filter.
Editing an Application cart item filter
You can edit the filter description, add or remove filter attributes, and set the filter as the default filter. Your changes are applied to all the campaigns and templates that use the filter.
To edit an Application cart item filter:

On the left-side menu of your Application, click Cart Item Filters.

In the Actions column of a filter, click > Edit Cart Item Filter.

Make the required changes to the filter.
noteYou cannot rename the cart item filter.

Click Save.

In the confirmation window, click Save.
Setting the default Application cart item filter
The default filter is automatically selected when you create rules in campaigns with cart item filters.
The default status is indicated by . An Application can have only one default filter.
To set the default Application cart item filter:
- On the left-side menu of your Application, click Cart Item Filters.
- In the Actions column of a filter, click > Make Default.
