Achievement participants
An achievement participant is a customer profile that has made progress in at least one achievement connected to a live Application.
Each customer profile counts as one participant, regardless of the number of achievements they have made progress in or the number of times their progress changed.
A customer profile with no progress in any achievement doesn't count as an
achievement participant. The customer's progress status shows as Not started
for every achievement they have access to but haven't made progress in.
For recurring on
expiration
achievements, the progress status also resets to Not started after the
achievement expires. A profile that made progress before the reset still counts
as a participant.
The total number of achievement participants is the count of unique customer profiles with progress in at least one achievement connected to any live Application.
A customer progress record links a customer profile to a single achievement and holds the following information:
- The customer's progress towards the target.
- The customer progress status.
- The achievement's start, end, and completion dates.
Talon.One creates a progress record when a campaign rule connected to the achievement triggers a customer progress effect for the profile. This includes one or both of the following effects:
For example, let's say a campaign connected to an achievement targets 1000
customers, and a rule triggers the startAchievementProgress or
increaseAchievementProgress effect for 300 of them. Talon.One counts those 300
customers as achievement participants.
The following factors don't affect the participation count:
- The achievement's type, whether one-time, recurring on expiration, or recurring on completion.
- Whether the customer completed the achievement, or if the achievement expired or reset.
Active achievement participants
An active achievement participant is an achievement participant with progress that started or increased in the previous 12 months. This time window is rolling, so it always counts back from the current date.

For example:
- If today is October 2, 2026, the active achievement participants count covers October 2, 2025 to October 2, 2026.
- If today is February 29, 2028, a leap day, the window starts on February 28, 2027.
Participant count
An achievement participant always refers to a customer profile. Talon.One counts achievement participants at the deployment level, which contains all Applications and campaigns in the live environment. The scope of both participant counts is not limited to a single achievement, campaign, or Application.
